On Monday morning, businesses and motorists were affected by the water main break, which proved tricky to plug, leaving some without water in the area of Tollgate Road and Constant Friendship Boulevard.

Tollgate Road traveling toward MD 24 remained open, though during the repairs, Constant Friendship Boulevard could only be accessed by traveling south on Tollgate Road from Singer Road.

According to officials at around 3 p.m. on May 20, Harford County Water and Sewer crews removed asphalt from the affected area and exposed enough pipe to see the location of the break.

Baltimore Gas and Electric personnel were also called to the scene to locate the gas main with a ground penetrating radar instrument.

Officials said that water service in the area is expected to be restored within three hours of having an accurate location of the gas main, so service is expected to be restored by the end of the day.
